Caballos para Polo

Mi doma es general pero suele ser orientada al objetivo final de trabajo del caballo que facilita el proceso posterior. 
Para un caballo de polo uno busca principalmente que no experimente miedo. Si no tienen miedo a corta edad tampoco lo tendrán ya maduros en la cancha. Es por eso que desde el primer momento que lo agarro y al iniciar la doma lo hago con la idea de que será un caballo de polo. Atiendo sus necesidades y esfuerzo el perfeccionamiento de las características de manejo y actitud que lo harán un gran caballo de polo. Es importante en este proceso dejar espacio para que desarrolle sus potenciales y su personalidad, es decir, su toque personal. No busco homogeneidad solo los guío para que aprendan a sacar lo mejor de ellos para cualquier disciplina.
Comienzo por la enseñanza de las marchas en un trabajo libre donde afiancen sus movimientos y señales. Recién a los 10 o 20 galopes introduzco el trabajo más fino para polo en redondo, cambio de manos, etc.
Respecto del control y reducción del miedo, trabajo sin fusta o con uso muy limitado de esta. Trabajo siempre a campo cerca de la manada. Es esencial el uso de mi cuerpo, el jugar con ellos, pararme, arrodillarme o acostarme, colgarme de ramas, etc. a la hora de pasar el taco este es solo un movimiento más, siempre con la seguridad de que no los dañaré.

My tame is general but is usually directed to the ultimate goal of work of the horse which makes easer the further process. For a polo pony one looks primarily not to experience fear. If a young colt is not afraid it will not be either when he is a mature horse on the polo field. That's why from the beginning that I grab it and start taming I do so with the idea that it will be a polo pony. I effort to satisfy their needs while improving the handling  and attitude characteristics that will make a great polo pony. It is important in this process to leave room to the development of their potentials and personality, thus its personal touch. I seek not to homogenize them but only to guide them in learning how to make the best of them for any discipline.I start by teaching the gaits in a free job where they consolidate their movements and cues. Just after 10 or 20 gallops I introduce the thin work in round, changed of hands, etc.Regarding the control and reduction of fear, I work without whip or with very limited use of this. I always work at open field near the herd. It is essential the use of my body, playing with them, standing up, kneeled or lied down, hanged from branches, etc., when I pass the stick this is just another movement, always with the assurance that they will not be damaged.
